Tanzanian-Nigerian collage artist Marryam Moma is a master of the art of crafting harmonious visual-narrative displays. She chose to escape the rigidity of a formal architecture background in favor of building a creative practice that highlights the experiences of people like her. Moma depicts Black joy through a multidimensional use of cutouts, layered paper, acrylic paints, gold leaf and mixed media. Partly autobiographical, her work dissects the complexities of living in a Black body and celebrates Black joy, reinforcing ideas about individuality and self-love. ALL SALES FINAL
