@tindel
John Tindel is an artist and designer working for the last couple of decades out of the Dirty South. As an early pioneer of the Southern art scene and suffering from what he calls “obsessive creative disorder,” Tindel’s work comments on Southern culture with unique imagery and wit.
Whether you’ve seen one of his exhibitions, visited his studio spot, or successfully chased after one of his free pieces, Tindel is a veteran around these parts. His large-scale works are multilayered, multicolored, multifaceted, these paintings are a contemporary puzzle, pulling the viewer into a world of myth, places, and patterns, — they are unique, and unique in many senses. His smaller wood blocks often display quotes from his grandparents or contemporary southern dialect, all spray-painted in vivid colors.
Tindel is always hustling in Atlanta and you can see his work on murals, art exhibits, and the homes of some of the most amazing collectors. His artwork and mural work is currently handled through the Imagination Bureau LLC and large-scale, available inventory can be found here.
